Robert, Jr, Charlene and Margarita are “Amerasian”: children of Filipino women and American soldiers stationed in Subic Bay, the largest American naval base outside the United States. Eighteen years ago the base was closed, and as 50,000 other Amerasian, they have been abandoned. Left by the ship follows their struggle to find a place in the world in which they live for two years.
