Misses Abibata’s door is always open. Known in Palermo as Mother Africa, she welcomes Africans of all nationalities. She does not deny anyone a hug, a roof and a hot meal, after which it is easier to start a new life. Food is happiness, the pivot around which the life of Abibata revolves. Several stories are interwoven around her table, she designs new cooking recipes to win again the “Cous Cous Fest”, or organizing aid for small villages in Burkina Faso, since the silent help of the Mother is needed in both places; here and there. Mother Africa is a bridge, together we will cross one of its sides.
