In a suspended time and place, a traveler finds himself at a peculiar station. A silent conductor, a vermilion train in the middle of a forest, an announcement beckoning other travelers, and a gramophone that gets stuck on the same note each time. Likewise, the train stands still and its passengers remain waiting for a journey that never begins, that seems to have to last forever. But an encounter seems to rekindle for them a different destiny.

Daily and extraordinary stories of various households during the lockdown: the couple who quarrel because the husband, not working, discovers that his wife does not know how to cook and for a lifetime has been buying things already prepared; the elderly couple who, out of superstition, put on the waltz of their first dance every day; Giovanna, the supermarket cashier, who has never smiled in her life because of ugly, crooked teeth, and now that she has had them done she has to wear a mask; Remo, the carabiniere, who is in love with Giovanna. All these stories are told by the voice of Pasquale, a patient of a group-apartment, a guest of a social cooperative.
