#elgoogo project -I sign, I live
Synposis:
Jascha is a deaf art student who does not care much about the hearing world, but he can not even avoid it if he wants to fulfill his ambitions. This makes him an insecure and rebellious person. Armed with a video camera, he visits the only European retirement home for deaf people to get to know their lives. Although the world of Jascha is very different, he tries to find answers to his questions in their stories.
Food for thought…
The documentary shines a light on the lives of the deaf community. Its interesting to see the interviews with elderly people as we get a glimpse into a broad number of themes: deaf sports, not being allowed to use sign language with fellow students, life in a boarding school for deaf pupils, relationships and marriages with other deaf people, dancing and music and communication in the family.
As always, don’t forget so share this documentary with your friends and family. Let’s unite and #establishties.
